The family-run place is a hidden gem, right at the edge of the Occitan trails in the Maira valley. The hosts are passionate and the food is wonderful. Highly recommended.

The food was excellent, and we felt comfortable even with our very small child. We had both breakfast and dinner at this timeless place, where we received a warm welcome and had a comfortable room. The four-course dinners were unusually good, and the very friendly host is a great cook. Breakfast was perfectly fine too. Our room was simple, practical, in very good condition, and had a very clean, apparently fairly new bathroom. The Ostello del Monastero is on a quiet road with fruit orchards nearby. Dronero is a short drive away, and from the monastery you can set off on hikes into the nearby mountains. The pedestrian bridge over the river nearby is very convenient. We stayed two nights and highly recommend the place.
