We only stayed two nights, though the place made us want to linger much longer. It’s peaceful, feels like a private home, and our room was pleasant with a kitchenette. Monica, who was away when we first called, quickly arranged for us to arrive that same afternoon after we left an agriturismo we’d booked in advance and found disappointing. Aurisina is about 1 km away, with a bakery and a small supermarket. We rode our bikes to Trieste, which was challenging but worth it. Monica shared plenty of local tips and taught us some of the area’s history and politics. We thought the stay was exceptional.

The room was cozy and clean, and the garden was lovely too. Monica looked after us well and gave us useful tips about the area. We were staying in the apartment and can recommend the accommodation. Give it a try.

We stayed for six days in April at Monica and her family’s home, and I’m already looking forward to returning. It was a lovely break in a quiet, leafy setting, with songbirds all around. The location also made it easy to reach both Trieste and Gorizia.

Stazione 8 was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our early July stay with Monica. We’d wondered about the lack of air conditioning, but it turned out to be a great stay. The thick walls keep the building well insulated, and there’s usually a light breeze, which felt much better than city air conditioning. Monica, thanks so much for being so kind and helpful. The girls are already fond of you! Stazione 8 gets our approval, and we’ll definitely be back.
