The apartment had a lot going for it: it was spacious, had a lovely back patio for outdoor meals, and was near Centro Storico. Two on-street parking permits were useful, though finding a space on Tuesday night was difficult because of overnight street cleaning, so read the signs. Two of the three bedrooms had strong A/C. The problems added up. The third bedroom has no A/C and only a folding door separating it from the kitchen and dining area, so kitchen noise carries in. One toilet is ensuite, which means going through a bedroom to use it. The other often wouldn’t flush properly, and we had to pour hot water from a bucket into the bowl to clear it. Flushing it was also very loud, especially in Red Bedroom. The kitchen needed more attention. The toaster was filthy and unusable, and several plates, dishes and glasses weren’t clean. The week’s included “Breakfast” was packaged food left on check-in day. The hosts were reluctant to provide extra items, saying, “Coffee capsules can be bought at any grocery store”. For what you get, the price felt too high.
