It was 28 degrees in the evening, but there was no air conditioning, and the mosquitoes were overwhelming. The host suddenly said AC was only for rooms with four people, even though there were three of us. That felt like a childish, penny-pinching excuse, and this condition wasn't mentioned on Agoda. The host basically ignored what guests wanted. I've stayed in more than 100 hostels, and this was the worst. I suspect reviews here and on Agoda are being filtered, or possibly fabricated.

Thank God it's supposedly closing in three weeks. The place was grim: dark, dirty, and extremely hot, with awful Wi-Fi coverage. I can't say anything good about the staff, so I'll leave it at that. Wouldn't recommend it.

The terrace was wonderful, and it's close to the Ercolano ruins. The director was very, very kind. In the evening, a chef comes into the kitchen and makes spaghetti amatriciana and wine for the guests. Exceptional.

I stayed here back in 2018, five years ago, and still find myself thinking about the hostel. It left me with so many lovely memories. A really special place in the world.
