Ca' Del Viaggiatore

The owners were so welcoming and made us feel at home. We spent three days at Ca' del Viaggiatore for the Hot Air Balloon Festival in Mondovì, and it was a great base for visiting both Mondovì and the Langhe region. Our room was quiet, comfortable, and spotless, and the whole property felt peaceful and carefully looked after. Breakfast was excellent too. We loved the atmosphere and would gladly come back and recommend it.

Alex and his family, dog included, were incredibly kind and gave us lots of useful tips for our stay. They also put together a lovely breakfast with croissants, cakes, bread, hazelnut spread, local cured meats and cheeses, and produce from their own garden. The property is well organized, with two lovely rooms and a pool. We had such a nice time and hope to return soon.

The area is peaceful, and you really do need a car to get around. I especially liked being less than a five-minute drive from the well-known craft brewery. We stayed in the Asia room, which was minimal but pleasant and beautifully furnished, with touches inspired by Japan, Thailand, and Asia more generally. The bamboo bed looked great and was comfortable, though it was comically oversized for two. Three-quarters of us could have fit in it. There’s no bidet in the bathroom, just a standard spray nozzle. I’ve traveled a lot in Asia and find that option more practical, though I know it won’t suit everyone. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had been put together with care and included local products. It was good and more than acceptable, while naturally different from what a hotel with dozens of rooms might offer.

We had a great time in this peaceful place, and I’d happily come back. We only managed one night because of work, even though we would have liked to stay longer. Valentina was very friendly when I booked, and Alex greeted us warmly when we arrived and suggested some lovely places to eat.
