The dinner had one bright spot: the pasta was very good. The salad with pork steak wasn't, and the pork was undercooked and bloody. At 90 euros a night, the room didn't feel worth the price, especially since services listed for the property weren't provided. I'm really unsatisfied, though thankfully we only stayed one night. We'd booked for the 5th of August, then changed our plans because of the weather. Communication with the host was really frustrating, and the cancellation policy was very strict. Booking told us the host couldn't take credit card payment because of the "weather". When we arrived, a gentleman showed us to a cheaply renovated room that smelled damp. The bed and pillow were really uncomfortable, just a mattress on a steel frame, and there was no WiFi in the rooms. When we asked whether the credit card payment issue had been resolved, they couldn't honestly tell us if weather was really the reason or if they simply weren't providing one of the services mentioned in the listing.

I spent two months at the Casale. The staff were welcoming and professional, and my clean room had all the comforts, complimentary toiletries, and a beautiful garden view. Breakfast was an excellent buffet and great value for money. See you next year.

The owner’s warm welcome and friendliness make the trip worthwhile. Our room and bathroom were clean, though a little too luxurious for our taste, and breakfast was excellent and varied. Set on a hill among greenery, this charming farmhouse feels peaceful. Its location is handy for getting to the sea and other places of interest in Calabria. In hot weather, it must be a great place to stay.

Our double room was spacious, spotless, and had a spectacular view of the hills. The farmhouse is on a hillside, only minutes from the sea. We stayed there in June and got a lovely welcome, a plentiful breakfast, and delicious lunch made with local produce. Excellent value for money. See you soon.

The real highlight is the hospitality, from the sweet Irina to the incredibly friendly Gianfranco. The sea is only 10 minutes away, and in the evening it feels like coming back home. The farmhouse sits beautifully in the hills of Amantea, in the municipality of the small village of Lago. I hope to return in September.
