Michelangelo and Manila were such kind, accommodating hosts. They aren’t fluent in English, and I barely speak Italian, but they were gracious and patient about the language gap and we managed to communicate just fine. The room was comfortable and immaculately clean, breakfast was simple and delicious, and the pool was beautiful. The place felt enchanting, cozy, and perfect. They also have an adorable, friendly, well behaved dog and cat!

The owners were welcoming and very kind, and breakfast was plentiful with plenty of variety. The fresh cakes each morning were a special treat. Our apartment was spacious, clean, and well equipped, and the fenced internal courtyard felt safe for the children, away from the main road. A charming, stunning place and a great base for exploring the area's wonders. Highly recommended.

August crowds in Puglia had us feeling stressed, but Masseria Purgatorio gave us the peace and quiet we needed. Michelangelo and Manila are wonderful hosts who made us feel at home. We could relax in their courtyard with the animals, and the outdoor shower was a real treat on a late summer afternoon. The location is convenient if you want to get to the beach quickly or visit picturesque places. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly relaxing stay.

We spent a week relaxing and hope to return to the same atmosphere. There aren’t many rooms, which meant less chaos and confusion, something we really appreciated. Our room was spotless and rustic, very much in keeping with the surroundings. Michelangelo and Manila treated us like more than guests. They were always available and offered suggestions for nearby places and less crowded beaches, no easy task during Ferragosto. Breakfast was simple and authentic, with a different cake baked each morning.

This is a natural setting, not a hotel, so come expecting authentic Puglia. The location is handy for the nearby sea, just a few minutes away by car, and many towns are within half an hour or less: Ostuni, Monopoli, Alberobello, Polignano a Mare, and Cisternino. There are also lots of coastal spots with cliffs and lovely beaches. You can even make it to the Ionian Sea in a little over an hour, perhaps for an evening in Gallipoli. The owners are extremely kind and helpful, and try to share their vision of a place that stays close to Puglia’s past. Olive groves spread around buildings that recall older landscapes and ways of life. The apartments have been modernized but still keep the character and structure of another, almost fairytale like era. It’s a quiet retreat surrounded by nature, with the true feel of a masseria.
