My father was meant to stay at this hotel in June, but he sadly died suddenly. We told the hotel and asked for the money back for the part of his stay he'd already paid for. Their response was cold: they sent us a copy of the terms and conditions, with no sympathy or effort to show goodwill. Under those terms, we were only a few days past the deadline for a full refund. We asked them to reconsider because this was a bereavement, not a change of plans or a convenient cancellation. They still refused. It felt like keeping the money mattered more to them than treating a grieving family with compassion. Another hotel he'd booked for the same trip immediately sent condolences and issued a full refund without questions. That's the kind of decency you'd hope for at a time like this. If this is how they respond to a family in mourning, think carefully before booking. I'd urge people to stay elsewhere, somewhere that puts people alongside its policies.

We spent three blissful days here with family for a wedding, and it was such a special, unique experience. The pool is beautiful, and the staff were pleasant and helpful throughout. Highly recommend.

A friend in Puglia recommended Masseria Marzalossa after we had to find somewhere at the last minute because we discovered mold in our Airbnb. I'm so glad that happened, as I can't picture a better stay anywhere else. Our room was spacious, with a little backyard of its own. I loved being able to cover the doors and windows to block the sunlight and sleep in. The grounds were absolutely beautiful.

The grounds are gorgeous and very well maintained, and the pool is fantastic and spotless. When staff were around, they were incredibly helpful. Still, Masseria Marzalossa fell short in several ways. At this price, I wouldn't expect to pay €4 for every bottle of water, with none in the room. Our so-called double suite had two very basic, creaky single beds pushed together. Drinks by the pool were charged without warning or a receipt; my Aperol cost €6 and came in a paper coffee cup. Dinner was expensive for what it was and served on badly chipped plates. On our last day, we noticed other guests getting eggs at breakfast, but nobody had offered them to us. We had a great honeymoon, but the guest experience here was disappointing. A few important changes, many of them not costly, could make this place amazing. As things stand, I wouldn't recommend it.

With just 12 rooms, the Masseria was quiet and relaxing, and had a peaceful, exclusive feel. The grounds are stunning and make a lovely setting for holiday photos. It's also a fantastic base for exploring Puglia. Highly recommended.
