Masseria Parco della Grava

I was in tears when we had to leave. The swimming pool and grounds, with their beautiful olive trees, were outstanding, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. A special thank you to Ada and to Simona for the wonderful cooking class. I stayed here with my two kids, and the place felt peaceful and full of charm, like stepping back in time. The design inside and out had the feel of an authentic Italian farm, while everything was newly renovated and every detail seemed just right. It’s a lovely spot to relax your mind and soul.

We had a lovely stay at this small Masseria, set among olive groves with very little noise. The garden and pool are wonderful, and breakfast has a good choice of sweet and savory food. One receptionist in particular was very welcoming and looked after our needs. We could change rooms when we arrived, stay later on departure day because of our late flight, and get helpful suggestions for local restaurants and beach clubs. A few small things could be better. The rooms are a bit dark, though that seems to come from the building itself. The owners could share more about the Masseria and its products. Breakfast might have fewer sweet items, although I reckon that’s common in Italy. I’d personally prefer firmer mattresses. There was also a burned smell in the air each day from nearby agricultural activity, and I suppose there may be nothing they can do about that.

We enjoyed the garden, which was very well kept, and the lovely olive trees. The courtyard and pool were both nice, and there was a bar by the pool where we had coffee and drinks. The room and breakfast were disappointing. The room had basic furniture and a creaky bed. Even with the air conditioning running constantly, it couldn’t cool the large room and it stayed hot. Once, despite the “Do not disturb” sign on the door, the cleaner came in and switched the air conditioning off. It was 38 degrees outside. The breakfast ingredients were very poor quality.

We were sad to leave after such a beautiful trip. The team at Masseria Parco della Grava were wonderful, the grounds are lovely, and breakfast was delicious. Our room was very large, and the location worked well for visiting nearby towns and villages in the morning before relaxing by the pool. We appreciated the restaurant suggestions too. A few small aperitivo snacks with drinks by the pool would be nice.
