Masseria San Francesco

Even in Italy's so-called off season, we had a wonderful, relaxing stay. The interiors and decorations are chic and calming, and the staff were warm, friendly, and happy to accommodate our requests. There's plenty to do, including swimming, horse riding, wine and olive oil tastings, and cooking classes. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

The property is beautiful, and both the room and bathrooms were nice. The spa and sauna area, though, is small and awkwardly laid out, so the extra charge isn't worth it. Even free, I wouldn't choose it. Air comes through the poorly sealed sauna door, and you get about 45 minutes there. It felt rushed and wasn't relaxing.

Our stay at San Francesco was a letdown, especially after we'd visited another Masseria nearby. The room was nice, which was the clear highlight, but the pool is tiny and has no nearby restroom. You have to get dressed and walk back to reception. Staff didn't seem welcoming, and we learned on arrival that dinner isn't served on Sundays. The bar menu was very limited too. Since it was the last day of our trip, we hoped to relax and eat at the property, but had to go elsewhere for food or we'd have gone to bed hungry. We also left early on departure day and missed breakfast. The receptionist first offered to pack us something, but it was forgotten. When we reminded the staff, they seemed reluctant to prepare a bag then and there. The experience didn't meet our expectations.

We had such a good stay that we wished we'd booked more time!
