Savelletri Miramare

The room and sheets smelled musty, as I told the owner. Wool blankets on the bed made me sneeze again and again, and ruined the few hours I spent there. Cats were fighting for three hours during the night, and there’s a cat shelter under the balcony, so we couldn’t rest. There was no access code for the property. Since we had an event in Monopoli, we had to go to Savelletri to collect the keys, then return to Monopoli. I was in the room only from 3:30 AM to 7:30 AM, then I ran away. At 3:30, opening the door in the dark was risky because the light doesn’t come on automatically, and there was a scooter right in front of us. The whole thing felt absurd. If I could, I’d post the noises that made it impossible to sleep. A waste of money.

A friend recommended this B&B, and their tip was spot on. The manager is always kind and helpful. It’s well kept and right in the city center, with a sea view even from the bed. I’ll definitely return.

The room was spotless, and the bathroom was huge. The place is very central, just a short walk from the pedestrian area, with the sea and some excellent beach clubs nearby. And there are restaurants serving fresh fish all the time. Excellent experience.

The room was called “deluxe,” but it smelled strongly of smoke throughout our two days and two nights, even with the windows wide open day and night. The sink had encrustations, presumably organic, and coffee stains around the rim that washed off easily with water. There was no spare toilet paper, just half a roll, so we had to ration it. I also couldn’t find the room with the “sea view.” We contacted the owner the previous evening because the room was supposed to be ready well before 12:00 p.m. We arrived at 9:45 a.m. and got the keys, but couldn’t enter until 12:45 p.m. The breakfast vouchers were for a bar that opened after 8:00 AM. On our second day it was closed, and nobody told us until checkout. Checkout was at the owner’s convenience, and she made us wait another 45 minutes.
