Masseria Calderisi

My table ended up going to someone else, even though I'd made a reservation. I hadn't provided my credit card details, but while I was on the phone I didn't understand how urgent that was, and nobody from the restaurant clearly explained that my booking might be at risk. There was no proper follow-up or explanation, and the whole thing was frustrating and completely avoidable!!!!! That level of customer service is unacceptable. I won't be back, and if clear communication and professionalism matter to you, I'd look elsewhere. Extremely disappointing.

We hardly wanted to leave the grounds, and whenever we did go out, we were eager to get back. The location is very good, close enough to the area without being far off the beaten path like some masserias. Over our two weeks in Puglia, these were the most exceptional three days, thanks to the service, room, and food. We had dinner here every night and every meal was wonderful. It made our 25th really memorable. We'd stay again.

The beach club was a favorite. The property is beautifully designed, with great food and service. Excellent place overall.

Our guests are still talking about the food, and it's easy to see why the place received a Michelin badge this year. I've visited Puglia five times and haven't eaten as well as I did at Calderisi. There are so many parts of the estate to use for different events over the weekend, taking wedding guests from the olive grove to the aperoterrace, piazza, beach club, and more. We bought out the whole hotel for three nights for our wedding, and it was the most incredible weekend of our lives. The food, rooms, service, grounds, and luxury aesthetic were phenomenal from beginning to end. Elena and her events team were quick to respond, helpful throughout, and accommodating of our requests, including letting us have 50 guests instead of the minimum 70. They also recommended our planner Giusy D’Ambrosio, who was brilliant. I felt in very good hands with both Elena and Giusy. One thing I'd flag is that some unforeseen costs came up, and I wish the events team had been more upfront about them. I'd also suggest having your planner there for the whole buy-out, rather than only the wedding day, to keep things running tightly and check the f&b packages. Still, if you're planning a wedding in Puglia, I can't imagine a more perfect venue. You can see the thought and care in every detail of the Masseria. I wish I could live that wedding all over again.
