The free parking was a real plus, and the young waiter was so committed that they should hold on to him. I also liked the very friendly grey-and-white cat. The trulli was clean and well kept, and it’s conveniently placed for car trips. That said, I can’t fully recommend the stay. We were hotel guests and paid extra for a trulli, but dinner at the restaurant still came with a EUR 3 per person coperto, marked in red in the picture. The food was very good, but that felt high for Italy, especially at a place that isn’t a luxury restaurant. There was hardly anyone else there, so they should be glad we ate there. There’s a very good, cheap pizza place nearby you could try. We had bad weather and couldn’t sit by the pool outside. Apart from our rather small trulli, there was nowhere to retreat. No lobby like in a normal hotel where you can sit and read, just the restaurant. The trulli was too dark for reading, and although sitting in the restaurant with a book without ordering seemed tolerated, we didn’t feel welcome doing it. Breakfast was mostly a ton of cakes, which was unusual for me. There were scrambled eggs, but they were cold. Breakfast really isn’t this place’s strong point. I also didn’t feel genuinely welcomed, despite it being a masseria. The staff seemed somewhat passive, not very invested. The trulli is beside a main road, so it’s rather noisy and you hear every car passing. The Wi-Fi in the trulli is bad.
