La casa di Duilia

The breakfast at the bar, included in the price, was excellent. The room's stone walls are lovely, the welcome was excellent, and the location in the historic center of the medieval village of Fornelli is great. Still, some things took away from the high rating. The walls are thin, so you hear everything, even footsteps upstairs. There's also constant engine noise, perhaps from the air conditioning, which is really annoying at night. The mattress is a bit old and uncomfortable, and without a shower, the whole bathroom gets wet.

The historic center is so peaceful, which made for a quality stay, and the owners were genuinely friendly and helpful. Even when an unpleasant surprise came up, they were very gracious. The B&B has a distinctive look, with brass fixtures, exposed stone, and themed furnishings. Preserving the historic character without spoiling it can't be easy, but they've managed it. A real gem and a must-visit.

My room had a quaint feel, exposed stone walls that kept its original character, and a small fireplace that was a real treat. It was warm and clean, and the water was always hot.

The rooms are always open and comfortable, with authentic food to enjoy, and the owners are always available. I spent five nights at Duilia's House, which has been renovated down to the smallest detail, keeping its stone walls and antique furniture. It all evokes the tranquility of Fornelli Castle.
