B&B La Lanterna

A stunning B&B in a beautiful spot. A full 10 out of 10, and definitely recommended.

It's a small property, but the rooms are comfortable, clean, and equipped with the facilities you need. For the price, breakfast is simple but very good. The owner is helpful and kind, and the location works well for first-time visitors to Fermo, with free parking and the elevators nearby.

The owner crossed a serious line. While we were out, he came into the apartment without warning to switch off the air conditioning. When I asked why, he answered aggressively and said he could enter whenever he liked because he owned the place. That's a serious invasion of privacy, and it's not acceptable. The place has potential, and the breakfast staff were friendly, but respect for guests has to come first. The cleanliness was good too, which makes the experience all the more of a shame.

We found the room freezing when we arrived, with the window open despite the very cold weather. The only heat came from a noisy electric heater, and we didn't feel safe leaving it on overnight. Then we understood the open window: the room smelled stale and moldy, and the dirty bathroom drains were backing up. Calling it a bathroom is a stretch. The toilet was so close to the wall that a man couldn't sit on it, and you couldn't stand upright in the shower either. The sink gave only a thin trickle of water. Breakfast was the final straw. There was no bread or savory food, just ONE packaged cake that smelled strongly of preservatives. The coffee was awful, and when we asked for a macchiato, we got a disgusting drink made with undrinkable UHT milk. NEVER AGAIN. The lady had an excuse for everything. My lady, the only real answer is to close the place. You have no feel for hospitality or food service.
