Hotel Il Duca D'Este

The heater in our room didn’t work, and breakfast wasn’t up to the mark. We also noticed that only one small lift was operating. On arrival, though, there’s a wide, luxurious lobby, followed by spacious rooms and bathrooms. The room had a good view.

The main reason I gave one star is that one of the cleaning ladies recorded a student naked. We’re a school group from Greece. We told the worker to delete the video, but we don’t know if she also cleared it from the “trash can.” I never expected tourists to be treated this way. I’d never come back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place. There were other issues too. The breakfast we had was poor and missing some basic items. The beds were comfortable, and the blankets were good, but the bathroom could have been better, though the toilet was clean and the bath was good. Some small cracks were visible, and some had mold in them. The next day they brought shampoo for our hands, and didn’t replace the used towels until we complained. The TV could be mounted on the wall. The view out our window was terrible, with large things blocking it, though it would have been bad even without them.

My room was clean, but the heat made check-in miserable. The air conditioning ran without cooling things down. Dinner was awful, honestly inedible. I wouldn't recommend staying here, and would avoid it if possible.

The room was clean, and parking was roomy enough even for large coaches. The rest was pretty average at best. The hotel feels worn, the toilet kept running, and the bedsheet was much too thin despite it being 15C outside. Breakfast was terrible; you can pay to upgrade, but I wouldn't bother and would eat elsewhere. Noise carries through the paper-thin walls, and you hear the corridor too because there's a gap under the door and no threshold.
