Il Bagattino

I paid 58 euros a night for one person. The air-conditioned room was pleasant and right in the old city centre, near the fortress. Still, the welcome pack was disappointing for the price, just a few drink sachets and biscuits. With the temperature outside in the high thirties, even a bottle of water would have been appreciated. The main annoyance was having to use my mobile phone every time I entered. The automated system never worked on the first try, and felt unnecessarily controlling and impersonal. Why not just give guests a key or a simple entry code?

It’s cosy and welcoming, like being at home in Italy. Definitely recommend it 🥰

Our room at Il Bagattino was spacious and immaculately clean. The host made us feel welcome and was friendly. Thanks for a lovely short stay in Ferrara, I hope I can come back soon.

The apartment is well equipped and very centrally located in an old building, though the decor is a bit tacky. It’s on the second floor, and the time lock engages automatically, so you have to be out by 10:00 sharp. Service was very poor. They were only reachable on WhatsApp, and there was nowhere to leave luggage. I asked if I could keep my bags in the apartment while the cleaner finished so I could go get breakfast. They said no, even though she had only just started cleaning.
