Palace Inn

The meals were very poor, and the room had no Wi-Fi. There was a cigarette smell when we arrived. Rudeness and empty promises to fix the problems seemed to be the order of the day.

Our school group had a very disappointing and unsafe stay. The food was terrible, and we were followed from the hotel to our destination on one occasion. During the trip, our buses were robbed. When we returned and asked about security footage, we were told they “did not have cameras,” so we felt completely unprotected. This doesn’t seem like a place that can safely accommodate large groups. I wouldn’t recommend it, especially for students or group travel.

The bathroom was in dreadful shape, with poor lighting, no hot water, and cleaning that seemed to have been missed. At meals, food ran short, what was available wasn't prepared well, and there weren't enough plates or spoons. The staff made the experience worse: they were rude and unprofessional, and I felt they treated some guests better than others. One employee, "Donarls" (or something similar), was especially disrespectful and seemed to favor white guests. Their behavior felt discriminatory and made me very uncomfortable. I had an awful stay and wouldn't return. I'd urge people, especially people of color, to think carefully before booking. The hotel needs to improve both its facilities and service.

The room equipment was terrible, and dinner wasn't any better. Breakfast was nearly gone within 15 minutes, with no refill. There was just one kind of cheese and one salami, no tea, bread, or eggs, and only one coffee machine serving terrible coffee. When we pointed out that there was nothing left, the staff shouted at us and replied in Italian, which we don't understand. Worst hotel and staff ever.
