The sea-view balcony and the daily fresh towels and shampoo were nice, and our ground-floor room had the basics we needed. Breakfast was pretty good and could be taken away. The woman working there was warm and welcoming, while reception staff did their best to answer our questions and sort out any problems. The restaurant serves good Italian dishes with a lovely view of the sea, and there’s both a pool and beach. A few things need work. Wi-Fi was slow in the room, though it worked well at reception. The pool got overcrowded during the day because local visitors could use it, making it hard to find a place. Breakfast starts at 7 a.m., and the noise from preparations carried across the ground floor. A quieter start would help. Hotel La Martinica is a good option in Ficarazzi, though there’s room for improvement.

The restaurant is a real highlight. The spaghetti vongole with local white wine was just mind-blowing, and the waiters were both professional and caring. We were there in June and found the hotel lovely, with attentive employees and a wonderful setting.

With a car, parking is available, and the staff can help get it into a tight spot. The restaurant view is incredible, though we felt there were more dinner choices than lunch ones. The hotel is clean and fresh, with a pleasant pool and a lovely little beach for guests. It depends what you’re after. For being near a major city like Palermo, it’s a great choice. If you’d rather stay close to nature and more picturesque surroundings, it may not suit you as well. Still, it’s a nice hotel ⭐️

The location is the main drawback. It’s beautiful by the sea, with great sunbeds, but there’s nothing else close by. The town is a 20-minute walk along streets strewn with rubbish, or a short drive on awful, unlit roads. It’s a working town with no luxuries, struggling to get by, so you’re stuck using the hotel restaurant (see separate review). The room itself was great, with a large wardrobe, comfy bed, bathroom and big terrace. The outside light didn’t work despite repeated requests.
