Hotel Astoria Fidenza

The cigarette smell in the hallways was strong and off-putting, though it didn’t get into the rooms. Apart from that, the room was clean and comfortable, with a good shower, soft linens and towels, and a comfortable bed. It felt like good value, too. Breakfast had a decent spread: deli meats, cheese, boiled eggs, cereal and pastries. The coffee was only okay, so we went into town for another cup. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a short walk to the train station and only minutes from the main square. Via Francigena runs right alongside. I’d say it’s a good-value option for a short stay.

The location worked well, and there was parking right in front. The rooms, though, felt quite dated. I was here for a couple of days on a business trip; the restaurant was okay and breakfast was good. I’d rate it around 2.4 or 2.5, which is why I gave it two stars.

I stayed three nights while visiting a friend in Fidenza village, Italy. What stood out was the room: it was very neat and had a separate living-room-like area, which gave us a bit of privacy when we had a visitor. I’ve stayed in hotels in the USA and hadn’t seen that feature before. The staff were very friendly and ready to help make our stay enjoyable. The money was well spent, breakfast was nice, and I’d definitely stay here again when I visit Fidenza.

Really good pizza at this nice restaurant. It gets busy late into the night, so booking ahead is a good idea.
