We stayed in a C type, two bed chalet, during Summer 2025. It was a good size, though our balcony or terrace seemed smaller than the ones on the other chalets. The building has been renovated to a high standard, and the mountain views from the chalets and pool are spectacular. There’s a good sauna, plus a fantastic rooftop sun terrace with table tennis and table football. For a summer mountain holiday, it makes a great base. The location is handy too, about a 5-10 minute walk to the centre, where local buses go almost everywhere. Bus passes were included in our booking, as they are at local hotels to encourage public transport use. A ski holiday would be harder, since you’d need to drive to the slopes and the parking isn’t covered. A few things kept this from getting five stars. Check-out at 9am feels early, especially with check-in at 4pm. It would also be nice to have soap, shower gel and toilet roll on arrival, so after a long drive you can use the bathroom and wash your hands before going to DeSpar. Staff weren’t around much. That might usually be fine, but the pool and spa weren’t supervised, and some families let children into the sauna area, which is meant for ages 16 and up. That’s wholly inappropriate in a nude sauna where costumes are forbidden. The rubbish setup needs attention. There weren’t clear instructions on what to separate, or enough bags and bins in the apartment to sort things properly. The bin room is a long walk downstairs, filthy, and, with confused guests adding to the mess, probably has a vermin problem. The place also lacks a jacuzzi. There’s plenty of room by the pool or on the sun terrace, and we really missed having one.

The location is lovely, surrounded by nature with breathtaking mountain views. The terrace at Chalet Simonazzi was a highlight, spacious and quiet, good for reading or playing ping pong. The pool was a nice size, though it could be a little warmer, and the Wi-Fi worked flawlessly. I stayed in apartment C. It was comfortable and a good size, but one of the two bedrooms was very dark and didn’t have a real window. Getting there was great for relaxing and enjoying the scenery, but the stay felt shorter than it should: check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out at 9:00 AM. After a long journey, we also found no soap, cleaning supplies or handwashing supplies. The waste arrangement was inconvenient too. There’s only one trash can and bag in the house, even though guests are expected to recycle, and the bin outside is a walk along the road. It was often overflowing and smelly. Still, it’s a valuable place for a peaceful break.

We rarely find somewhere this quiet and relaxing that’s also so central, and this complex was perfect for us. The apartment had plenty of space and storage, thoughtful details, and a beautiful view of Schlern mountain. We lacked nothing. We especially enjoyed the big balcony, with seating and sun loungers, and the wellness area with its heated pool and sauna. The steam room was switched on whenever we asked. The morning bread delivery was a lovely touch too. We’ll definitely be back next year.

The heated pool and solarium were lovely spots to unwind, and we hope to return soon. We stayed at Simonazzi Chalet Residence in Fié allo Sciliar, just beyond the village center, with a direct view of the Sciliar. Our apartment faced that way, and the sight was a marvel at any time of day. It was spectacular, recently renovated, with two spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms with very large showers, a tastefully furnished living area, and a terrace where we ate while looking toward the Sciliar massif.

The spa was very clean and lovely, and having a pool was a big plus. Our hosts were friendly and always available for questions. We had a wonderful summer holiday in a beautiful, spacious apartment with a large terrace and a view of Schlern mountain. We didn’t lack anything, apart from an oven in the kitchen, which we already knew about. It’s an ideal base for excursions, and we’d love to come back.
