Villa San Michele, A Belmond Hotel, Florence

Florence looks amazing from the hotel, and it's a great spot for mixing a city visit with time in the countryside. The main restaurant's Tuscan cooking was especially good, and service was faultless. I loved having a drink on the lawn too. The cocktails were great, though the fans they used to present the specials felt clunky to me. Small thing. As a solo traveller, the experience could have been smoother: I had to remind staff a few too many times that it was just me. Still, thanks for a wonderful stay.

We had a wonderful two-night anniversary stay at the Villa. The staff were so friendly, and our room upgrade was a lovely surprise. They also left a sweet flower arrangement on the bed for our anniversary, which made the visit feel extra special. The Villa is absolutely beautiful, and the Florence views are breathtaking. Photos really don't do it justice. It felt like a dream. The free shuttle takes you to the center of Florence and back. We had a rental car, so the hotel's parking was a big help, especially since parking at hotels in Italy can be hard to find. The location also worked well for drives around Tuscany: neighboring vineyards and wine tasting are nearby, and Pisa is about an hour and a half away. Thank you, Belmond Villa San Michele, for such a memorable first trip to Italy. We'd definitely stay again and highly recommend it. Mahalo from Hawaii! :)

We should have stayed longer. The restored monastery and grounds are exquisite, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. It's a gorgeous hotel in the hills above Florence. The only disappointment was that the restaurant had run out of Florentine steak, so we couldn't try it. Highly recommend.

The pool was relaxing, the food was delicious, and the views were incredible. A waiter gave us exceptional service during lunch by the pool and made us feel special. My family's stay at Villa San Michele was extraordinary, and we can't wait to return to this amazing place with all its history.
