The setup and decoration were great, and breakfast was amazing, with homemade cakes and a nice selection of fresh fruit. The rooms are quite simple, with limited furniture, and there’s no AC. Getting there takes a bit of effort too, with a five-minute walk along a dirt path.

The property is beautiful and makes a great base for trekking and exploring. Daniela was a wonderful host who helped with all our plans, from booking a boat to getting us a trekking map. We had only a short time on the island, but she helped us make the most of it.

The hotel was lovely and clean. Just keep luggage light if you stay here, since a taxi can’t take you right to the entrance and there’s a bit of walking to do.

I can’t speak to the place itself, only how the hotel handled things. A couple of days ahead, we told them bad weather meant we couldn’t travel from the main island to filicudi. An exceptional storm was forecast for the day after our check-in, our check-out day, and we thought we might be stuck there for a while. The hotel declined a refund, saying the boats had still been running on our check-in day, which wasn’t the point we were making. When we suggested a voucher for a future stay, we didn’t even get a reply. If you choose to run a business on a remote island, you should take on at least some of the risks along with the perks.

The owners gave us such a nice welcome, and the view from this amazing place was great.
