Hotel La Bussola

Lunch and dinner were such a treat, with delicious food, plenty to choose from, and generous servings. The place felt like a family-run hotel, and everyone was so kind and welcoming. We had a wonderful holiday in Finale Ligure and will be back soon.

The location worked really well, just a few steps from the sea and near the center. It’s a quiet spot, with bars, pizzerias, and a supermarket close by. I stayed for nine days and had a very positive experience. My single room had a good amount of space thanks to how the furniture was arranged. It had a small balcony with a drying rack and chair, matching furniture in a recently renovated room, and even a mini-fridge, which isn’t guaranteed at a three-star hotel. The room, bathroom, and shared areas were spotless. The staff, including the owners, Mr. Francesco, and the cleaning staff, were all very kind, helpful, and welcoming. They made the atmosphere relaxed and peaceful. Breakfast was more than good, with a thoughtful range of savory options. Half-board was available while I was there, and dinner was à la carte, excellent, and carefully chosen, with varied off-menu options. I’d happily recommend this place and hope to return.

The price I paid for bed and breakfast didn’t feel justified by the quality or service, even though I chose that option myself. The location is very nice, near both the sea and the pedestrian area, and the hotel has been renovated. But the rooms and bathrooms are tiny, unlike how spacious they look in the website photos, and some minor maintenance needs attention. Breakfast was very basic, with frozen pastries. There are at least three bakeries on the street, and I’d expected something local. Parking is in a private home some distance away.

We had such a lovely weekend here. The food was amazing, the rooms were clean, and the staff were welcoming, helpful, and knew their stuff. We’ll definitely come back.
