Hotel Piccola Firenze

A good place to stay, visit, or spend a weekend exploring the upper Mugello. You can enjoy good recipes and the typical cooking of these mountain areas. The accommodation is well situated and seems suitable for all kinds of occasions.

The hotel is right in the middle of Firenzuola, and the rooms were clean and cleaned every day. The products at breakfast were fresh and good, but there was very little choice. Service was the main problem, and what little was offered was poor. At check-in, a girl greeted us. When I asked where our room was, she said, “You’ll find it up the stairs.” I asked again a few minutes later and got the same answer, so I had to find the room myself with my luggage. Later I asked her whether I should keep the keys or hand them back, and her reply was awful. I also asked if I could leave my motorcycle where I’d parked it. I was told to move it to the reserved motorcycle spaces, but nobody mentioned there would be a market the next day. I should have noticed the sign, but being told about it would have been a nice bit of service. A terrible experience.

€70 for one night in a room that isn’t even up to a two-star hotel. It was clean, which is the only positive I can think of. The value for money is unbelievable. The pizzeria downstairs was extremely noisy until midnight, and there was a lot of noise from kids outside in the early evening. I strongly advise against staying here.

Jenny and her brother were incredibly kind and helpful, and they offer a shuttle to and from the Futa Pass. But the rooms, especially the bathroom with no window or fan, and the breakfast weren’t worth the €100 we paid.
