Albergo Hotel Verdi

Roberto made my family and me feel so welcome. Thank you, you're a tremendous person inside and out. We had amazing food, the area was fantastic, the staff superb, and that view was to die for. I can't wait to come back!

Roberto, the owner, was a warm, excellent host, and the staff were friendly too. I really enjoyed my stay. It's pleasant sitting outside with a drink in the evening, and the downstairs area is light and airy, though the corridors are rather dark and could use more lighting. The hotel is just outside Figgui, down a short, steep drive. There's a lift to the upper floors, but I think a wheelchair user might struggle to fit. Rooms have air conditioning for an extra €5 per night. It was worth paying to stay cool for me, though others may feel differently. Wi-Fi is free throughout.

The room was the worst I've ever stayed in. I had to force the shower head around because it was so blocked, and water just poured out. The toilet kept running until I found a silver knob on the side to stop it, since the loo lever did nothing. I spilled some brown sun cream, and although the lady was changing sheets, mine were never changed all week. The green top cover smelled and had a stain. The shrubs were uncut, so the balcony view was crap. Food was the same basic continental fare. Each evening it was a tiny bit of potato, one chicken leg and salad, every Frecken day. At least the lady offered extra starters. There was also very loud music you couldn't get away from. The electrics were funny too: with all those light switches, the main light would go off, then come back 30 minutes later. I'd throw a towel down to be replaced and they'd put the same one back up, same with the cup, into the bin and then back on the sink. I had to pay extra as a single guest. The fan up top was brilliant, though. If you're on a package tour, check the hotel first. I don't want to stay there again. Reburto seemed happy to have more guests coming, but I'd love to be a fly on the wall.

The staff were very friendly, and the food was simple but tasty. We stayed for 3 nights in April 24. The rooms were clean, though dated, and the corridors had 1970's decor. Fine for a couple of nights while travelling around Italy, but I wouldn't stay longer.
