Borgo degli Aranci

The views, villa, and food all made our holiday feel magical. I came with two friends, and we’re already talking about coming back. Gwendalina was such a great host and gave us lovely recommendations for restaurants to try nearby. We ate some of the best food I’ve ever had. I don’t usually write reviews, but I can’t recommend this place enough. We’ll be back x

The view over the Aegean Sea and Mount Edna was incredible, but the stay as a whole was a huge letdown. I came halfway around the world hoping for a peaceful retreat and left frustrated. What could have been a restorative break turned into a logistical mess, and I wouldn’t recommend booking this property. There were mosquitoes constantly whenever we went outside. We’d brought a whole bag of repellents, and none helped. There was so much stagnant water on the property that it seemed to be a breeding ground for them. The pool also looked poorly cared for, with black dirt clearly visible on the bottom. Inside, the carpets were dusty and had hair on them, the washing machine didn’t work, and several bathroom fixtures were broken. The place felt neglected. Update: I’m changing my rating from two stars to one because the owner now claims we never stayed there. The photo I posted clearly shows I was at the property, and the owner doesn’t want to acknowledge the mismanagement.

We booked all three houses at Borgo degli Aranci for a week, and it was an unforgettable stay. The host made us feel welcome and clearly cared about making the week special. She pointed us toward great ways to explore the region and even set up a wine tasting at a vineyard nearby. We highly recommend it!

Everything was comfortable, clean, and lovely, and the photos show the place just as it is. It’s a beautiful home with a lovely property. Guendalina was such a gracious, warm host. We can’t recommend staying here enough!
