Villa Asiola is a lovingly renovated 900-year-old house among fields and orchards, and the hosts are warm and accommodating. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the breakfast is generous, and the stay is good value for the quality. There's good wine in the area, and cyclists will appreciate the level roads and paths. Aquileia, with more than 2000 years of history and plenty of ancient sights, is nearby. Grado's beaches and fish restaurants are 11 km away, while Trieste and Slovenia are a quick drive to the east and Venice is reachable to the west. My one possible gripe: at the beginning of September, don't forget mosquito protection. Dress appropriately and bring a good spray and you'll be fine. Also, remember to ask Umberto how to say "horse carriage" in German ;-)

The owners were really nice and helpful, and breakfast was great, with fresh fruit and pastries. There's a beautiful outdoor area, and the location is great too. Super recommended if you're in Friuli!

The spacious rooms and tidy, spotless bathrooms made for a very comfortable stay. It's a magnificent Italian manor house dating back to 1174, modernized while still feeling incredibly cozy. The owner and staff are easy to like, and the service is superb and attentive. There's lots of room to gather in the evening, plus a beautiful park with ancient walnut trees and a summer house. The garden also has an artesian well, and there are nearby restaurants well worth visiting for an Italian meal.

On Saturday, June 28th, we celebrated my parents' wedding at Villa Asiola, and it was an unforgettable day. The kind, attentive owner made us feel very welcome. From our first visit, we loved the attention to detail and the fantastic garden. It was large and meticulously maintained, and its centuries-old trees gave us welcome shade and coolness on a particularly hot day. Villa Asiola is a real oasis of peace in the Friulian countryside.
