Al Canto

We were looked after with so much care by the hostess, who also suggested restaurants nearby. The room was beautiful, the facilities were excellent, and the whole place felt like a fairy tale. Breakfast was small, with refreshments available during the day, including prosecco. It might look far from Florence’s center, but it really isn’t hard to get there, with several buses and trains serving the area. A wonderful place to stay.

For a quieter stay away from central Florence, Al Canto worked perfectly, with a bus into the city taking around 15 minutes. My husband and I stayed there for several days on our babymoon, and I was seven months pregnant. It was hard to sleep well elsewhere on the trip, but the bed and pillows here were perfect, and we had some of our best nights of sleep. The B&B looks modest from outside, but Al Canto B&B is beautiful and charming inside, with our room opening onto a shared garden. The room was comfortable and had modern amenities. Ryan took great care of us at breakfast, and Linda made us feel welcome. We’d come back and recommend Al Canto to our family and friends.

I’ve been to Al Canto a few times now, and every visit has been better than the last. Check-in was seamless, the room and scenery were lovely, and the breakfast was great. Linda is a warm, knowledgeable host, and Ryan, the second host, was exceptionally generous and funny. It’s comfortable and well equipped, with a feel that takes you back in time while still offering modern amenities. Highly recommend!

During our three-month backpacking trip around Europe, my husband and I spent eight nights at Al Conto, and it was one of our favorite stops. The host was so kind and clearly cared most about making sure guests were happy. He went above and beyond, and the lovely breakfast spread each morning made us feel at home. The rooms were comfortable, public transit was easy to get to, and we can’t wait to return.
