We relied on taxis to get into town, and the fares added up. The hotel isn’t close to the main attractions or city center, so you’ll need a taxi or public transport, though the location works well enough if you’re fine with that. Our room was on the small side, but the layout made good use of the storage. It all looked recently renovated, with modern, new furnishings. You need to call downstairs to have the air conditioning switched on. Breakfast was good, and we enjoyed the evening lounge. The 14th-floor city views were amazing, and we had a nice two-night stay at the DoubleTree.

The hotel is a bit away from the city center, but its courtesy van was reliable and made getting around easy. The drivers were friendly, polite, and on time, so commuting during our two days in Florence never felt like a hassle. There aren’t any supermarkets or convenience stores close by, which was the one small drawback. Inside, it has the classic look of an old-school star-rated hotel, and I found it comfortable and elegant. The front desk welcomed us warmly and gave us chocolate cookies at check-in. Breakfast didn’t have a big selection, but what was served was fresh, tasty, and well prepared. I also emailed questions before arriving and the crew answered patiently and politely. Despite some negative reviews I’d seen, I wasn’t treated differently as an Asian guest. I felt welcome and valued throughout my stay, and would happily return to this DoubleTree. The room had good views.

The hotel sits a little outside the center, but we could get there easily by public transport, taxi, or the shuttle bus. Our room on the seventh floor had a great city view and plenty of space, and breakfast was great too. The staff were outgoing and extremely helpful, always willing to go the extra mile with our small requests. They made the stay memorable, and I’d highly recommend the Hilton for a visit to Florence.

The shuttle drivers were a highlight, so friendly and quick to reply on WhatsApp. Happy hour was great and even had seafood. As a Diamond member I was able to check in early, around 2 PM. My only drawback was needing to take a taxi from the airport to the hotel.

Bianca made us feel genuinely welcome and valued when we checked in at the DoubleTree by Hilton Florence. She patiently answered our questions and took care to make sure everything went smoothly, which meant a lot while we were traveling with family. She was professional, attentive, and warm from the start. That mix of efficiency and a personable manner really lifted our experience. Bianca is a real asset to the team, and I hope her excellent work gets recognized.
