At Hotel Villa Fontelunga, I felt completely at ease, whether I was relaxing by the pool or having a leisurely meal at the restaurant. The place has a luxurious setting but still feels like home, and the staff treated me like family and made sure I had what I needed. I love this hotel and consider it my favorite getaway. It sits in the beautiful Tuscan countryside, with elegant decor and lovely views throughout. From the moment I arrived, the calm atmosphere made it easy to relax. I’d wholeheartedly recommend Villa Fontelunga to anyone wanting a peaceful Tuscan escape and a chance to make wonderful memories.

We took our family of 17 adults and teenagers to Villa Fontelunga for a week, and the team became part of our family. Paolo, Philip, Greta, and Erica were joyful, professional hosts, and we felt at home. We toured Firenze, Arezzo, wineries, and Sienna, took a fabulous cooking lesson at Scuola di Cucina de Lella, and ate at superb local restaurants. The Villa has nine en-suite rooms, including a separate villa, with magnificent views over the Tuscan hills. There’s a well-kept swimming pool, which was necessary in 90 degree heat, a tennis court, an outdoor dining courtyard, and a lovely breakfast room. Many excellent restaurants are only 10-15 minutes away. On a few evenings, we stayed in and the Villa arranged phenomenal lunches and dinners for us. It’s one of the finest boutique hotels we’ve stayed in, and deserves its Michelin rating. It felt as good as any five-star accommodation. The location is central in Tuscany, about an hour from Florence, 40 minutes from Sienna, and 30 minutes from Arezzo and Cortona. We cherished the visit and can’t wait to return.

Fontelunga was a real Tuscan gem, even more lovely in person than the photos suggest. On our first evening, the staff welcomed us and we had a fantastic home-cooked dinner, chatting with the other guests over Prosecco and those incredible countryside views. The house has been beautifully renovated, keeping its classic Italian charm while adding modern touches. We loved the stunning pool, and the hot tub was a treat on a chilly fall morning. Long, relaxed breakfasts on the patio were another highlight. Paolo and Philip were kind hosts who knew the area inside out. We absolutely loved our stay and can’t wait to return.

The atmosphere at Fontelunga Tuscan is easygoing and homey, with rooms that are cute and quaint and shared spaces that feel like someone’s living room. Paolo and Phillip have put thought into making it feel like a cozy home, and the views of Tuscany from the bedrooms are stunning. It’s good to know that things are casual here. Breakfast and cocktail hour are mostly DIY, and you pay for what you use. If you want a more catered, luxury-style experience, this may not be the right fit. But for a relaxed, personal stay, it’s worth it. Paolo and Phillip were friendly, helpful hosts with great local knowledge and tips on what to see and do. We had a wonderful time and would recommend staying at Fontelunga.

The hospitality is what made our stay at Fontelunga so special. My husband and I were treated like friends dropping by, and we loved talking with Paolo, Philip, and the other guests. Their suggestions for local restaurants and scenic routes were great. I also enjoyed morning runs and afternoons lounging by the pool in the sun. The dogs were a lovely bonus and helped make the villa feel homely. Paolos daily cakes were a real treat, too. The house is tastefully decorated and has superb views. We had a perfect stay and will be back xx.
