The rooms were clean and perfectly fine, but there’s no air conditioning. The pool has lovely wide views across the valley, and there’s a BBQ, though getting there means crossing a big parking lot with no shade or grass. That’s not a pleasant walk, especially since you end up crossing it often. There aren’t many shared places to spend time together either. The pool has too few umbrellas for shade, and the main terrace barely fits a table big enough for everyone. It looks onto the hot, sunny parking area, so it’s not somewhere you’d want to linger. The villa is in a very quiet spot just outside a little village in Val di Chiana.

We hadn’t planned to stay here, since there were problems with the house we booked, but I’m really glad we ended up here. The house was clean, and the owner was friendly and helpful, with good suggestions for wineries and things to do. The pool was spacious and cleaned daily. We’d come back, no question.

We were nine adults and seven children and had a great stay. The pool was beautiful, and the little pine wood was lovely too. There are two separate parts to the property, one downstairs and one upstairs, each with a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. We could have lunch outside in a shady spot. The one drawback was the lack of air conditioning, including in the bedrooms.

The owners, the Magi family, made us feel so welcome. Elena had left us a homemade cake, honey, and jam as a welcome, and their generosity made the weekend even better. We stayed in a traditional Val di Chiana farmhouse with a barbecue, a garden, a terrace with a spectacular view, and a carefully maintained pool. It’s tucked into the hills, surrounded by nature, and the setting felt like a fairytale. Five stars don’t do it justice. Thanks, and see you again soon!
