Armon Greenblu Hotel & Wellness

The room conditions were awful. Ours was room 216, as best I can remember. It constantly smelled of sewage, plaster was falling from the ceiling, and the door didn't shut properly. Sometimes it could be pushed open while closed. Money and earrings went missing from both rooms our group had: €200 from one safe, and €2,200 plus earrings from the other. The safes had personal codes, but we later found out they could easily be reset with a default factory code available online. We considered this a serious security flaw that staff could exploit. We had strong reason to suspect the housekeeper who was the only person cleaning our rooms, but the hotel defended her and accused us of making baseless claims. She didn't speak English and had a darker complexion, possibly Spanish or another nationality. There are no cameras in the hallways, so it's impossible to track who enters or leaves rooms. When we reported the theft, the front desk staff laughed at us, were rude, and at first refused to call the police. They eventually did, but the hotel accepted no responsibility. Only some of the stolen money was returned, and we still haven't received compensation through the hotel's insurance. Our experience over several days was shockingly bad.

Breakfast and dinner came in very generous portions, and the rooms were cleaned every day. The spa was to a very high standard and much needed halfway through our stay. We had a very enjoyable visit, thanks to the hospitable staff, especially Angela and Laura at reception, who were always accommodating and cheerful. We'd highly recommend the place and stay again.

Our vacation was ruined by what felt like brazen, brutal behavior. More than €2000 and gold earrings disappeared from our room safe, and €200 was missing from the safe in our friends' room. There were no signs that either room or safe had been forced. We couldn't open the safes with our unique codes; when staff used the emergency code, the safes were empty. The hotel staff didn't admit responsibility, and offered no apology or regret. We called the police. They told us we'd need to go to the station the next day to file a report, which cost us a day of skiing. There are no surveillance cameras anywhere in the hotel, and staff couldn't clearly explain who might have accessed the rooms or when. It seems possible someone from the staff was involved, but the hotel did not clarify what happened. This kind of incompetence and possible presence of thieves among the staff damages not only the hotel's reputation but the whole Madonna di Campiglio ski resort. I also feel sorry for the honest people who work there.

The staff experience was mixed. The kitchen staff were polite, while management seemed more interested in being right than dealing with guests' concerns. The food was tasteless and served cold, and breakfast wasn't generous. The spa felt undersized for a six-floor hotel, with only six loungers or cheap, uncomfortable wooden benches. Guests could use the pool for just one hour each, a rule not mentioned when booking, and had to wear a hat. People looked visibly shocked and disappointed when they came in. The steam room and dry sauna were laughably small, barely comfortable for four people. Our room was a letdown too. The wardrobe barely fit two jackets, there were no robes or slippers, and not even a complimentary bottle of water. Wi-Fi was painfully slow and barely worked. In the bathroom, cold water came out strongly but hot water only dripped, and there wasn't a complimentary vanity set. Check-in is at 4:00 PM and checkout at 11:00 AM, which left them five hours to prepare a tiny room. They insist on payment in advance, and it felt like they knew guests wouldn't want to pay after staying. Don't trust the pictures, this felt like a scam. The hotel clearly put money ahead of the guest experience, and showed little care or value for us. We could have paid less for a 2-star hotel if this was the service on offer. We expected a nice, comfortable stay and were completely disappointed. Thank you, Armon Greenblu Hotel management, for ruining our Christmas holiday.
