Azienda Agrituristica Chiara

The price felt more than fair, and the meal was generous where it counted: the first course was plentiful and the ostrich meat for the main course was just right. The appetizers were small tastes, a few with unusual flavors, and the dessert was the one part I’d improve. It’s a beautiful spot overlooking Artò, and they raise ostriches there, so you can try the meat. The setting is quite basic, though the lovely fireplace keeps it wonderfully warm. Visited in December 2012.

The food was mixed for us: the appetizers and desserts were very good, but the first courses were poor. We didn’t try the second courses. I found this agriturismo on Google Maps and we weren’t especially picky, so my rating is just adequate. Beyond the food, I felt the owner lacked expertise. The warmth and enthusiasm for sharing his passion for the work were missing.

Virgilio and Chiara are really kind, and the homemade food was delicious. The place is spacious, spotless, and well run, surrounded by nature. There are nearby woods for walks too. A lovely choice if you’re after a relaxing break.

The owners are the cooks here, and they really look after you with delicious menus. It’s an excellent agriturismo. Highly recommended if you’d like to walk to the nearby Sanctuary or head down to beautiful Lake Orta.
