B&B La Giostra Di Foligno

The room was nice, the bathroom was adequate, and though it wasn’t ensuite, it was private and very large. The apartment is centrally located and well placed for exploring the village. The bathroom was private, and the kitchen and breakfast room were shared. Only packaged food was served for breakfast, so we ate outside. They also only accept cash, which is a drawback, as is the lack of air conditioning. The price was relatively low, though. The attic room got so hot in summer that sleeping was practically impossible. There was no air conditioning, no drafts, and the fans were too loud to leave on. The ceiling fan didn’t work. Fortunately, I was only there for one night.

I wouldn't recommend this place. The bathroom was outside the room on the third floor, and there was no elevator. The ceilings in the bathroom had mold, the toilet had hairs on it, and the tub's silicone was moldy too. Towels, pillows, and blankets in the closet were stained and just tossed in there. There wasn't even a microwave or a saucepan to warm milk.

We spent a miserable night in the heat. There was no air conditioning, and the two fans were very loud. I should've checked before booking, since I just assumed it would have AC. The apartment is up three flights of stairs in an alley near the center. We couldn't find parking, so left the car in the square, although the booking said parking was included. There's no washing machine, and the flat-screen TV is smaller than my tablet. Breakfast was all packaged sweet food. Each person got one towel, and the bathtub and shower were outside the room. We also weren't given a receipt. I really can't recommend it.

The price for three days and two nights was unbeatable, and we only needed the room for sleeping, so I don't understand all the negative reviews. It's a small but comfortable room just steps from the main square. The bathroom is outside the room but private, which was fine for us. Breakfast is self-service: the owner lays out food and drinks, while guests heat their own drinks or open the biscuits and other items. He explained that everything served has to be packaged. There was plenty of food in the fridge, too. The owner came to meet us in the square, was very kind, shared lots of tips about places to visit, and told us stories about Foligno. He's a wonderful person.
