Giulia was so careful and thorough with the service, congratulations to her. This is a welcoming home with rooms set up as comfortable stays, with heating, TV, Wi-Fi, a private bathroom, beds for 2-3 people, and a mini-fridge. It’s on the second floor of a building with an elevator, and Giulia gives you the key for it at check-in. Older guests may want to check in and reach the Oberdan Rooms floor first, then bring up any heavy luggage by elevator.

The location is handy whether you arrive by train or car, and it’s close to the center while remaining outside the ZTL. Parking is easy to find, paid but inexpensive. The service is friendly, though the schedule is a little strict, with rooms to be vacated by 10:00 a.m. The place itself is very basic, suitable for a one-night stay if you’re not looking for the atmosphere of a B&B.

Giulia, the owner, came across as dishonest to me. She never mentioned that the room’s blind was broken or that rooms downstairs would be noisy all night. My kids and I left on the second night after getting no sleep, and she said she’d refund the unused night. Instead, she blocked my number. When I called from another phone, she wouldn’t let me speak and told me to take it up with Booking.com.

The room was spacious and the location was great. Breakfast was a small assortment of packaged items, though you could make your own coffee. Very good value for the money.
