Hotel Dei Chiostri

We left feeling at home and would gladly return. The setting is striking and welcoming, with a calm atmosphere where it’s easy to unwind. For a romantic night, La Corte, the owners’ Michelin-starred restaurant, serves dinner by candlelight and should make an impression. For something more relaxed, Bistrò La Cantinetta has excellent local food from Michelin-starred Chef Donato Episcopo.

We can't recommend the hotel based on our stay. The attic room was so dark and cramped that it was hard to feel comfortable, and moving around upright was nearly impossible because we kept worrying about hitting our heads. Breakfast was very sparse, just a few slices of ham and untoasted toast with no way to toast it. We haven't seen the other rooms, so they may be closer to a four-star standard.

The price felt far too high for what was provided. The single room was barely half a room, and there was no bidet in the bathroom. Reception was inadequate, with an extremely long wait, and the hotel felt squalid. They went about their own business and only came to collect payment afterward. A very negative experience, a two at best. Avoid.

There was nowhere to store our luggage, and checkout was required by 10 am. Reception was unattended apart from when we arrived, and there was no bar or shared space to spend time with others. Our room was tiny, with our suitcases taking up all the floor, and the window looked onto a backyard with garbage cans. Breakfast was so basic it didn't feel worthy of a supposed four-star hotel.
