I spent the period from late October 2025 to mid-January 2026 at Il Matellino near Follonica, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it. The hillside setting among olive trees has a stunning sea view, and the beautiful, exceptionally well-kept garden felt calming even in winter. The nature, light, and space make it special. My apartment was clean, comfortable, and very well equipped. The kitchen had everything I could need, more than I’ve found in many holiday rentals, so it worked well for a longer stay. Francesca deserves a special thank you. She’s warm, attentive, and caring, easy to reach, and quick and flexible whenever I needed something. It’s clear she truly cares about her guests and their well-being. I could work with great focus, exercise regularly, and enjoy some sunshine, which is so rare during winter in Germany. The stay gave me a lot of energy and felt deeply nourishing. I’m grateful for every day I spent there. It’s an ideal place for a relaxing break or a longer stay in a quiet, inspiring setting. I’d love to return.

We felt very welcome at this beautifully located agritourism property. The hosts were friendly, the sea and city views were fantastic, and the pool was cleaned every day with water that stayed clean. Our apartment was small but had everything we needed. The last day was unpleasant, though. There was a hunt, and the hunters came quite close to the house, firing loudly enough to wake us. It was frightening, especially with our dog there. If we came again, we’d check ahead about hunting days so we could avoid them.
