The walk into the village at dusk was a highlight, with such a mystical, cinematic feel. Isabel made the stay especially welcoming: she clearly puts a lot of care into running the place, asked about food allergies, and shared local tips. The breakfast was great, the room was fine, and the quiet setting was worth going out of my way for.

I was blown away by how good the breakfast was.

We came for five days in May for figure skating competitions at the PalaSmeraldo, and the location worked really well. The arena and Lago Smeraldo are both about a five-minute drive away. Getting there from Fondo is easy despite three hairpin turns at the end, and the road through the apple orchards is lovely. The room was very comfortable, though our ground-floor triple was a little dark in daylight because the windows are screened for privacy. The setting itself is peaceful and green, with a beautiful view over Vasio and the valleys. Breakfast was plentiful, with a good mix of sweet and savory food. We especially liked the homemade apple juice and bought some before leaving. The woman who welcomed us was delightful and even moved breakfast earlier so we could get to the competitions on time. We’d happily recommend the place for its convenient location and quiet countryside feel.

The breakfast was lovingly made and delicious, and the room and apple orchard setting were both lovely. Booking communication was excellent and check-in was flexible, which helped on my cycling trip. The price for what you get was fantastic. I’d absolutely recommend it.
