Hotel Cava dell'isola

Theresa was such a kind host, picking us up from the port in the heat and letting us check out late so we could enjoy the beach on our last day. The beach is only seconds away, with two good places nearby for a meal or takeaway pizza. Forio takes about 15-20 minutes on foot and has plenty of bars and restaurants for the evening. Buses and a car park make it easy to explore the island. If I could, I'd come back every summer.

The beach is uncrowded and just a few steps away, and there are several restaurants close by. We had a wonderful time at this family-run place. The rooms are beautiful and well equipped, the drinks were great, and we shared plenty of laughs. Mario, Juicy, Mortizo and Teresa helped make the stay special. The staff were kind and accommodating, especially with families who have young children. We'll be back!

The views are a highlight here, with sea views over breakfast and sunsets in the evening from the different levels built into the hillside. Being on Ischia’s west coast is a real plus. The public beach is only a few steps down, and it's a nice place to meet local people. Our room was quiet and we slept well. The family who runs the hotel made us feel welcome, remembered our names, and went out of their way to help without making a fuss. A remarkable stay for a great price.

We spent most of our time at the beach, with its young crowd, good music and nice waves, and really liked the restaurant too. The calzone and salad options were great for veggies. Teresa and Mario were helpful and easygoing, and the whole place felt simple and relaxed. The rooms were just OK, with bright lighting and not much coziness, though the bathrooms were high quality. The tiny pool is more like a hot tub, so this may not suit you if you're expecting a resort-style setup. Still, we loved the beach and might come back.
