Hotel Terme Tramonto d'oro

The terrace views of the sunsets each evening are stunning, and the thermal pools are a real treat. We also enjoyed the excellent food and good house wine. It’s a good hotel in a great spot, with bus stops nearby. The rooms are small but clean, and the staff are polite and helpful. We’d be happy to return!

The location was perfect, with a sea view, and the bus stop is just two minutes from the hotel. The food was fine, too. It’s quiet, the people are lovely, and the owners are very pleasant. You almost feel at home, like you’re with family. I travel a lot and have stayed in at least 50 hotels around Italy. This one is really beautiful and has very convenient prices. Our room was basic but comfortable. The reception staff were very helpful, and our guide Usain gave us great advice, checking in by message each day to see if we were enjoying the holiday. The dining staff were fantastic and went out of their way to make sure we had a lovely meal. The food was tasty, too.

The restaurant staff treated me like family and always had a table ready when I arrived. I hadn’t realized meals were included in my rate, and there’s also an à la carte bar by the pool for a drink or snack. The food was impeccable. I loved the pool area for swimming, relaxing, and tanning, with plenty of places to sit. The spa and mineral pools were wonderful amenities, too. I came to Ischia for the first time and didn’t know the customs, language, or area. Everyone at Casthotels Tramonto d'Oro was patient, compassionate, and well informed, and gladly helped me find my way around. From Naples I took a ferry to Ischia, then on to Forio, and was in awe when I got off. Forio felt magical, with its shops, restaurants, and attractions. Walking from the port to the hotel was fairly easy, though the hotel is on a busy road that isn’t good for pedestrians. Still, it’s central and convenient, and I could explore Forio whenever I wanted. The bus stop just down the hill connects to the rest of the island. One day I took a short, easy but crowded bus ride to Sant'Angelo, where you can travel around the island and take in its beauty. Both rooms I stayed in were lovely and suitable. My first was a small single room, but impeccably clean, with a comfortable bed and very effective air conditioning. Outside was a cosy seating area and a clothesline for drying towels and swimsuits. The bathroom was small but functional. Near the end of my stay, the manager asked me to move because of a booking conflict with an incoming guest. I was glad to help. The room above the lobby was huge, with a king-sized bed, an extra twin bed, a private terrace with panoramic island views, and a luxurious bathroom. Neither room had Wi-Fi. The second room was larger and more elegant, but its TV was small and very old. The amenities compare well with much more prestigious five-star hotels. The property is beautiful, and the accommodations are comfortable. I can’t recommend Casthotels Tramonto d'Oro enough for a stay on Ischia.
