The De Somma family made us feel completely at home at Hotel Villa Rita. We came to reconnect with family, since my father was born here, and we plan to stay only at villa Rita when we return each year. I highly recommend it. The property is beautiful, on the southwest corner of the island just outside Panza, overlooking the sea. There are olive, lemon, and pomegranate trees, a gorgeous pool, and lovely rooms, each with its own private sitting area. Breakfast each morning included cold cuts, fresh bread, cornetti, fresh fruit, yogurt, freshly squeezed orange juice, and a different tart or sweet cake each day. The family were accommodating and wonderfully hospitable, and gave us lots of helpful suggestions for restaurants and places to visit around the island. We also enjoyed coffee, pastries, and cocktails on the patio in the afternoons and evenings, then used the indoor hot pool before bed.

The local owners are what make the place special. They were welcoming, kind, attentive, and caring, helped me plan, and made me feel at home. The grounds are gorgeous and well maintained, and the hotel is spotlessly clean. The views are beautiful too. Breakfast was the best I’ve had in Italy, with freshly squeezed juice, coffee, melon, and a special Ischia pastry. I’ll come back someday. The shuttle up to town was very helpful and much appreciated.

I spent three unforgettable days at Hotel Villa Rita and found the people there incredibly warm and kind. Rita, her brother Gerard, their father, and their aunt welcomed me with so much heart and humility. From the start, they made me feel like part of the family. The villa is in a peaceful, authentic part of Ischia, away from the tourist chaos. It’s somewhere you can feel at home, truly rest, reconnect, and be looked after. The sunset and view were the best. For the comfort and sincerity you get, the price is incredibly fair compared with other options in the region. Leaving was hard, but I know I’ll return. Thank you for everything ❤️

What a great place! The family are friendly and so helpful, and the view from the room is lovely. We loved the swimming pools, and breakfast was divine, especially the cornettos.

The ocean views from both the room and pool were gorgeous, and the pool itself was fantastic. We loved the quiet, laid-back setting and the lovely breakfast, especially the great coffee. Gerardo and Rita from the friendly host family were always willing to drive us to Panza or collect us. From there, buses make it easy to get around the island. Highly recommend staying here.
