The best part was the sunset view. The hotel also sits in a great spot for reaching the main places, especially Forio's center and the clear water at the Bay of Citara. It's an old building with a lot of potential if it were looked after. The condition and service were very disappointing. The indoor area with two pools, a jacuzzi, and Turkish bath was entirely out of service, and the jacuzzi was empty and rusty. The outdoor pools were neglected, with moss around the tiles, and the supposed thermal waters were in a dilapidated state. The shared areas were also dirty, and the bathroom was nearly nauseating. Our linens weren't changed during our five-night stay. Breakfast was meager, with one woman trying to manage both the buffet and bar, so things were often missing and there was a queue for coffee. The milk served was expired and gave our whole group stomach problems for the entire stay.

There were hundreds of ants around the bathroom doorway, and mosquitoes inside the bedroom light kept us awake and biting through the night. The hotel is in disrepair, which is a shame because you can tell it used to be a nice place. Don't be fooled by the website photos.

The pools were decent and the thermal water was great. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the cleaning was okay. But breakfast was very sparse, and after 9 o'clock it was hard to find anything decent. There were lots of mosquitoes, and a dog in the neighboring room barked morning and evening. After a long, tiring trip, we got a cool but professional welcome. The room was very old, some furniture was broken, and the cupboard doors fell off. It was an experience, but I wouldn't return. This place is worth 3*, definitely NOT 4*.

We had a great time, and thanks to everyone. The location is very good, with the beach just across the Main Street and Forio about a 20 minute walk away. Staff were really friendly, the pools were lovely, and the food was good quality. A few small drawbacks: sometimes the receptionist was also tending the bar, so getting a drink could take a few minutes. The room was clean and okay, though a bit old-fashioned, and the AC was very loud but manageable.
