Masseria Sorani

The setting was a pleasant stop, but the place wasn't quite as refined as I expected for our most expensive overnight stay. Breakfast was fine, with self-service ham, cheese, eggs, and the like, and you clear your dishes into a sink. You can't drink the water, yet we were given just one bottle. There was a paid coffee vending machine, which didn't feel right here. Our room did have a fridge and kettle. There seem to be about four rooms in a converted barn, with lots of exposed stone, facing a covered terrace with seats and a pool view. There's plenty of parking, though you reach the property by a 100m dirt track. It's a ten-minute drive from the nearest town, next door to a refined restaurant where we ate. The meal was very nice and a good experience, though quite expensive, the most we paid for food in Puglia. A nice one-night stay, just a little short of what I expected.

The garden is simply beautiful, and the pool is quite large. With only four rooms, the masseria feels very private. We had a lovely local breakfast, and the whole place was beautiful. A dream stay, and I'd recommend it wholeheartedly.

The owners were lovely and really helped us arrange dinner and a wine tour. The grounds were so peaceful, surrounded by olive groves, and breakfast was delicious. We also tried the local delicacy, which was a great addition to our trip. Fabulous stay!

It felt more like coming home than checking into a hotel. The pool and rooms were lovely, and the whole place had such a relaxed feel. Breakfast was generous and tasty, and it was easy to get to know the other guests staying there. A great spot when you want to slow down and take it easy.
