Hotel La Torre

Free parking is right in front, and the main square is only a two-minute walk away. The hotel is also well placed for Modena and Maranello, so it works as a base for exploring. The place was tidy and affordable compared with the other limited hotel options during the holidays. Breakfast was decent, with rolls baked there, but if they run out and you don't tell the staff, only sweet things are left. The coffee was delicious, made by staff on a proper espresso machine, though that meant a bit of a wait.

We didn't get the chance to stay at Hotel La Torre, but Mr. Claudio's kindness left a real impression on us. He generously offered support and even tailored solutions to fit what we needed. It moved us, and people who are so sincere and passionate about their work are rare. He really showed us the spirit of Italian hospitality. We hope we can come back and stay properly. Thank you so much.

The breakfast was decent, and the staff were fairly friendly, but this was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Some rooms are very old and poorly furnished, and ours wasn't very clean. The beds were uneven, the walls old and dirty, and interior doors were broken and had holes. There was nowhere in the bathroom for a makeup bag or towels, which were left against the drainpipe or the broken door handle. The electrical outlets were very old and loose from the wall, making me worry about getting shocked. The only bathroom outlet was closed off and didn't work. A tiny curtain barely covered the bathroom, and there was no radiator, so it must be freezing in winter. In the room there was no desk or other place for a suitcase, no phone, and no bedside light. The door handle was held by just one of its four screws. They seem to excuse rooms like this by calling them workers' rooms, as if workers don't deserve something decent. Three stars is far too many, I'd give it one at most. Never again!

The view of a historic church in town was lovely, and the hotel is right in the center, very close to the train station and bus stop. We had a wonderful weekend in Formigine. The welcome was warm, everything was spotless and orderly, and the staff were really friendly and ready to help with any problems. Breakfast had a great selection. We'll definitely come back.
