Hotel Byron

Avoid this place. It’s wildly overpriced for what you get, and they ask for a deposit to protect the room furniture, then seem to find all kinds of reasons to deduct from it. I had a terrible experience. The staff were aggressive and derogatory. This hotel is a scam, please stay away.

The smell is one thing I still remember from the moment I walked in until I left. The service was high quality throughout my stay, from arrival to the last day. On my first visit to Forte dei Marmi, I was so excited to stay at Hotel Byron and ended up calling it the wonderful hotel. It’s close to both downtown and the beach, and yes, I’d come back.

Forte is such a charming place, so I’d spend the money elsewhere. I paid over 1000 Euros a night and found the staff exceptionally impolite. They acted as if guests should be working for the five star service, as though the hotel’s five star status belonged to them. It was a terrible experience, and management offered no resolution. I did notify them. They only apologized, and I had to suggest that comping a breakfast was the least they could do. They offered no solution at all. Their response also brought up my reviews of other hotels and their shortcomings, which has nothing to do with my review of this hotel. Perhaps management can learn from this, especially if they don’t want reviews like mine.

I got sick during our first trip to Forte dei Marmi, and the hotel found an excellent doctor who came to my room within 20 minutes. Simone and his team went above and beyond for me. Byron is a modern hotel with Italian luxury service, and the staff are amazing. It has a quiet, understated kind of luxury for people who appreciate art. If I return to Forte dei Marmi, this is where I’ll stay. Thanks to Simone and his team for everything.
