Pensione Villa Elena

There is plenty of parking, and I can't comment on breakfast since I didn't have any. If you're on Vodafone, 4G doesn't work there, only H. The property has a lot of potential, but it needs more upkeep and attention to detail. The villa sits opposite the sea and the Capannina nightclub. It's a historic, multi-floor building with a garden, and looks nice from outside. Inside, the rooms have 20th-century furnishings, so even a one-night stay feels like stepping into another era. But they smell musty and stale, which means you have to leave the window open. You can hear things because the rooms aren't soundproofed, and on the second floor the water was lukewarm and had low pressure. There's no television or reception.

The location and the surrounding park are truly lovely, and we're quite happy to come back. This family-run guesthouse, a former neoclassical villa, is looked after by two or three friendly sisters. But the place has clearly seen better days. The food and accommodation are very basic, and hygiene and cleanliness aren't its strong points. It really needs urgent renovation and updated furnishings.

The staff were attentive, kind, and helpful, and the rooms are in excellent condition at very affordable prices. It's a historic place with an old-world charm, a lovely example of a Forte dei Marmi villa. I'd recommend it for anyone looking to spend a weekend in Versilia.

The family cooking was excellent, and the welcome was just as good. The atmosphere brought back an older Versilia, so I'd recommend it to anyone after an authentic feel for the place.
