Hotel Valle del Cedrino

We'd definitely recommend this hotel. The countryside setting in Sardinia is beautiful, with lovely views and a real sense of peace. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were very attentive. A wonderful stay!

We found it good value for money. There were four adults in our group, so we took two apartments, though one apartment should work well for a family with two small children. The rooms stay nice and cool. There's a kitchen on the veranda, and everything is kept very clean, including the pool and the whole outdoor area. The large garden also has several barbecue spots. Orosei is less than a 15-minute drive away.

The staff were a real bright spot. The receptionist made an effort to speak French with us, and after the managers spotted us, they invited us for an aperitif. It made for a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. We also loved the view from the terrace facing the mountain, and the pool area was nicely arranged with shaded places and tables. The pool itself let us down. Most of it was shallow, with just one corner reaching 1.60 meters. The water circulation and filtration looked dated, and at one point the water turned green, as shown in the photo. The water around the property also seemed odd. In the sink and shower, for example, it had a strange taste and smell. The room layout was unusual too: the kitchenette, dishes and oven were on the terrace, while the sink was in the entrance hall at the far end of the room. Air conditioning was only in one bedroom of the apartment, so my brother and I were warm under the eaves and had to rely on a basic fan. There was only one window, and it couldn't be opened or closed fully. A mixed stay for me.

It felt like a fairytale. I woke up rested each morning, and could have breakfast on the veranda with the mountain so close it seemed you could hear it. At night, birds called across the valley, maybe cuckoos, though I'm not sure. The place has lots of little terraces among the greenery, with tables and barbecues where you can sit or celebrate late without disturbing anyone. The residence is home to kittens and a big German Shepherd puppy, all affectionate and happy to come say hello. The owners are wonderful, generous with their time and keen to share special moments. There's also a huge pool right beyond the veranda, tempting to swim in, though I didn't get to try it because of the cold and rain. Everything is lovely. If I were a writer, I'd choose this as a place to work. I'll always come back. Thank you ♥️
