Rafaelli Villa Angela

We had such good family time here with our daughter and her Italian husband, and our four-year-old granddaughter. We all came away feeling better for it. The hotel is very good value for money, and the newly refurbished room was a pleasure. It was clean and we got fresh towels and good room service every day. We looked out over the covered outdoor dining area in a beautiful garden. It was cool and pleasant to sit there, and the play area was in view, with toys, bikes, prams, seesaws and a roundabout. We could enjoy a long, chatty dinner while watching our granddaughter play. There was a different menu each day, with options including vegan dishes. Prices were very reasonable and the food was delicious. The restaurant staff were wonderful with our little girl, and all the hotel staff were extremely helpful. They also had evening entertainment for children, including a good magician. The hotel is very close to the beach, where there's a saltwater pool with good classes. On the beach we had a tent with sunbeds and chairs, so we could spend time together by the sea. The long sandy shore had lots of little shells, and I loved walking along it. Service was outstanding, and the food was incredible. Lunch by the beach was hard to beat, especially the fritto misto with assorted seafood, the seafood pasta, and the salads. Dinner was amazing too, and the chef is unbeatable. This feels like an authentic, unpretentious place, run by a dynamic woman with her female desk staff and a wider team of waiters and other helpers. There's a big playroom for children, plus a pleasant garden and outdoor seating. The beach is perfect for young children, with access to an enormous pool as well. If you're in Italy by the sea with little kids, I can't recommend it enough.

The room was very noisy and uncomfortable, and I couldn't sleep at all. There wasn't even a telephone in the room.
