C'era una volta Podere San Giovanni

It felt like being back at our grandparents’ house, in the nicest way. The B&B is peaceful and surrounded by greenery, yet close to historical and cultural spots and lovely scenery. The rooms have a rural feel, with thoughtful touches that keep what you need close by, and indoor parking is available. Breakfast was generous and catered for different dietary needs. We could use the shared room, chilled water, kettle and coffee maker whenever we wanted. Thanks for the warm welcome, the stories and the childhood memories that came back while we were there.

We had breakfast out in the garden, which was wonderful, and the breakfast itself was good. The rooms and garden were clean and well cared for, and the staff were helpful. The village is charming, though the place is a little away from the sea. Our room was rather dark, without a big window or balcony, but the garden and little courtyard just outside helped make up for that. I would have liked some honey; it wasn’t there, though I’m sure they would have brought some the next morning if I’d asked. Thanks so much.

The Silos room was comfortable, and the bathroom had everything we needed. Breakfast came with plenty of pastries, coffee, milk and tea. There are a couple of handy pizzerias nearby, which suited us since we were on foot. The owner was so kind, and the place feels personal in every corner, from the room to the garden and breakfast room. It’s more of an experience than just somewhere to stay. Fossacesia is worth a visit too, especially the Abbey and its lovely view.

We stopped at this B&B to break up the drive back from Puglia. Our room was called Manger and was under 10 square meters. The cleaning was very limited. There was dust on the small windows and on top of the picture frames, and the brick floor doesn’t seem easy to clean either. Some underwear from previous guests was still on a chair by the doorstep. They really need to pay more attention to cleaning. This just isn’t acceptable.
